I could still pass for 17, right?

I was called to be in the Young Women's presidency in my new ward. I'm the second counselor -- over the Beehives (12 & 13 year olds). I'm really excited. I served as YW president when I was 26-28 years old. When I was called, I was working full-time, not even a mother yet -- still immature in a lot of ways. I loved those girls -- hey, one of them became my sister (shout out to Erin!). But recently I've thought about how I could do it differently, with a little more maturity. I'm thrilled to be with this particular group of girls. We're small in number -- about 10 girls. I can't wait to see what's in store for us.

I have to recognize Joe in all of this. There's the obvious -- he's in charge at home every Wednesday night. But here's the biggie -- twin one-year-olds, by himself in Priesthood on Sundays! He's the best -- and hey, he can fill up his own blog with all their antics!

And, wow -- we just switched to a 2:00pm meeting time. Those twins were so bad even before Sacrament meeting started. Crazy yelling and arching backs and whining. Their afternoon nap time is between 1:30 and 2:00. The chaos created by Logan and Set is punctuated only by Kate -- who also doesn't get a nap. She will not be outdone by anyone being naughty. And Collin who thinks he can get away with anything when Mom and Dad have their hands full with three others. We are in for it........

woo hoo! Welcome back to the world of YW! I can't seem to escape it either. I have the Laurels though (advisor) and they're a blast. Congrats on your new calling!

Small numbers? 10 beehives or 10 girls total...because when I was in, it was about 10 girls total. Now that's small. Joe has a blog? He's definitely super dad to handle all that. When Gunnar was first born I LOVED mutual because I loved leaving the night time routine to him. Ha, but it's not so hard anymore and I am glad to be back home those nights.

hehehe. Maybe you could pass for 17, but not 13. But then, who wants to be 13? Not me, that's fer sher! Too bad we won't be able to go out drinkin and carrousing on wednesdays anymore. Oh, wait. We forgot to do that. Darnit, now we can't. Thursdays, then. Wanna go see Elizabeth with me and Jen this week?

Cool--I don't think I will ever be in YW--I must have PRIMARY written all over my face in permanent marker.

As for the DC trip, your mom should have kept the whole watching-the-twins-for-a-week thing on the down-low because now I know she's capable and guess who has a 10-year anniversary next year?

I just returned from leading a long weekend camping trip to the Blue Ridge Parkway (5000' elevation) with 25 youth from our church. I really only expected maybe 8 - 10 TOPS, when I volunteered to do this. As it turned out, i had a few other adults, and the kids were outstanding, and we all got something out of it. Mostly worn out. But that's something! Good luck with the beehive!

Oh my - good luck! My hubby is in the bishopric, so I get our twins, three year old, and five year old on my own during sacrament meeting! Thank heavens for friends who are willing to grab a baby when needed. Last week, my hubby forgot that he was in charge of Lexi (one 14 month old twin) and she took a walk around the church (of course, passing several men who just thought it was funny... no woman would have let her pass them!). Good luck, you will do great!
